Cassie is a girl who only loves playing dress up games. She forgets all things around her when she starts playing. Her parents are very worried about that because she did not like that before. She was very shock when she failed in the most important exam in her life. That was the competition to be a fashion designer for a big company. It is strange when a 20 year old girl plays dress up games but according to her, it makes her feel more comfortable when seeing a lot of different clothes. They are diverse about styles, colors as well as accessories. She finds the fun when choosing each item for characters in games to find out the suitable ones. She seems to not go out and doesn’t want to talk with anyone. Meanwhile, her parents really want her come back like before by all ways. Suddenly, one day, he remembered the story about the chef cook and his daughter. At night, he came to Cassie’s room and retold the story for her. That is about a girl getting troubles in her life and it seemed that as soon as one problem was solved, a new on arose. She didn’t know how she was going to make it and want to give up. Her father is a good chef cook, after listening to her complaint; he took her to the kitchen. He filled three pots with water and placed carrots, in the second he placed eggs and the last is coffee beans. After that he boils them with the high fire without any words. The daughter wondered what he was doing but she still patiently waited. After about twenty minutes, he took out three things and put them into three different bowls. And then he asked his daughter: ‘What do you see?’ She replied ‘carrot, eggs, and coffee beans.’ He brought her closer to all things and asked her to feel each. She did and noted that the carrot was soft, the egg when breaking and pulling off the shell became a hard-boiled egg and at last, she tasted the coffee and enjoyed its rich aroma. The father explained that each of the items had faced the same adversity-boil water but each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong and hard but after boiled, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile, its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But after boiled, its inside became hardened. Besides, the ground coffee beans were unique, however after they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water. The father turned back and asked his daughter ‘which are you? When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Do you become weak like a carrot, hard on the inside like an egg or do you change the circumstances like the coffee beans?’ Cassie’s father asked her the same question and really wanted her to think twice to change the circumstances which she met now. Afterwards, she told that while she played games, she found many interesting things, she applied for a job as game designer and she would not give up her dream to become a fashion designer. She would continue to take part in the exam next year. And now to have more experiences, she will become a dress up game designer for a year and has small sewing shop at home.Her parents were very happy to hear about that. They always support for her daughter. And a lot of people will have troubles in the life but don’t give up, be weak or suppress things.
